Chief Executive Officer – Choggiung Ltd.

Choggiung, Ltd. seeks a mission-oriented CEO. We need a highly collaborative, team player who communicates well with individuals at all organizational levels.

The CEO is responsible for the overall management and supervision of Choggiung, Ltd. and its subsidiaries, to include budget preparation and management, marketing and public relations, and daily operations.

The position is located in Dillingham, Alaska, a year-round scenic destination for outdoor adventure. Dillingham is the fastest growing city in the Bristol Bay area with a strong industrial base located on the Nushagak Bay at the confluence of the Nushagak River, and inlet of Bristol Bay. With a population of roughly 2,500, Dillingham offers the best of small town life.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Land and Resource Management, and/or related field.
  • Professional level experience in business administration, operations, management, or related field can be substituted for Bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.
  • Eight years of professional experience in business administration, operations, management, or related field, with demonstrated fiduciary and management responsibility, and two years served at leadership/executive level.
  • Previous team building experience.
  • Experience and ability to adapt to rural Alaska living.
  • Corporate financial/investment experience sufficient to meet the profit objectives of a growing Alaska village corporation is preferred.
  • SBA 8(a) experience is preferred.

Land Use Permit Supervisor

Position Location: Nushagak River Camp/Dillingham
Summary
Serve as the supervisor and manager for land use permitting for Corporate Lands and those lands for which Choggiung Limited has a monitoring contract.

Minimum Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma or the equivalent
  • Valid AK Driver’s License
  • Certified in First Aid or have the ability to be certified within 30 days of hire
  • At least two years of work experience in retail, customer service, administration, or similar field

Apprenticeship Announcement

Inland Empire Fire Protection is pleased to announce that we will be accepting applicants every first five business days of every March and October. This is a full time paid apprenticeship program dedicated to provide a well-rounded training experience and an opportunity for a lifelong career. Our apprenticeship program is fully recognized and accredited.

Inland Empire Fire Protection was Established in 1984, IEFP has played a significant role in the construction of fire safety systems in some of the Inland Pacific Northwest’s most notable facilities including schools, hospitals, shopping malls, community centers, apartment buildings, high rise office buildings, large and small storage facilities, large and small manufacturing facilities, military installations, and more.

We are a certified SBA 8(a) minority contractor and an Alaska Native Corporation. We are also a recognized Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB), and Small Business (SB).

We proudly maintain our long time memberships with the Inland Northwest Chapter of the Associated General Contractors (AGC) and the American Fire Sprinkler Association (AFSA).

Our team represents over 100 years of experience. Our lead designer, Daniel Shier, has been a certified NICET Level IV “Senior Engineering Technician” since the mid-1980’s, boasts more than 40 years in the industry, carries a Washington State Level III Certificate of Competency, and an Alaska State Fire System Permit. Our Project Manager/Estimator, Bill Burke, has worked in the industry for over 30 years as a journeyman fitter, superintendent of field personnel, and estimator.

Notification of Apprenticeship Announcement

The Inland Empire Fire Protection Apprentice program consists of 10,000 hours of on the job training (OJT) and 144 hours per year of related supplemental instruction (RSI). Regular wage progression is earned with satisfactory progress through the apprenticeship.

Applicant shall be at least 18 years of age

Must provide a copy of high school diploma or high school equivalency

Physically able to do the work of the trade, with or without a reasonable accommodation, and without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of the individual or others

Have a valid driver’s license and a dependable means of transportation to the employer’s place of business and/or jobsite and to the place where classroom job-related supplemental instruction is conducted. Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and written format, defined as the ability to ask for and fill out the application on the employer’s premises without assistance.

 

Completed applications shall contain the following supporting applicant documentation:

  • Completed and legible application for apprenticeship.
  • Current driver’s license that provides proof of age, must be 18 years or older
  • High school diploma or high school equivalency
  • Copy of DD-214, If applicable

Other Requirements As a condition of employment and prior to job offer, applicants will be required to submit to the following:

Applicants must complete and pass a substance abuse test as well as a Department of Motor Vehicle and criminal background check as a condition of employment. Failure to meet the requirement will result in the applicant having to repeat the application process. The cost of the drug test is borne by the Inland Empire Fire Protection Apprenticeship Committee.

An application will not be considered complete unless all required documentation is included with the completed application. An incomplete application will make the applicant ineligible for consideration.

If the applicant wishes to supplement the application, they may submit 3 letters of recommendation and a detailed work history, including military service, technical training and/or education, including previous sprinkler and piping work experience that shall be verifiable through state or federal sprinkler fitter licensing entities.

The committee will notify the applicant of their interview date and time.

All applicant applications shall remain on the eligibility list for a period of two (2) years unless they request in writing to be removed from the list. Applicants shall keep the apprenticeship committee notified of their current contact information.
